No DVCPRO HD Playback on Fully Updated Machine

I'm attempting to play back a video that is encoded with DVCPRO HD. This is a file that was exported from AE CS3 on an Intel G5, running Leopard 10.5.5, and QT Pro Version 7.5.5.

I am trying to run the file through Compressor on a different machine to compress it into a smaller format for distribution, but the file will not play back in Finder or in FCP. I am able to play back the file on a computer other than the one it was created and exported on.

The machine I'm using for compression is a PowerPC G5, running Leopard 10.5.5, QT Pro 7.5.5, FCP 6.0.4, and has all the latest updates installed. I did some research and discovered that DVCPRO HD is a codec that Panasonic licenses to FCP. I checked and the codec is installed in QT under HDD/Library/Quicktime and for FCP under HDD/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/Custom Settings.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure if the Mac Version allows this, but the PC version of Adobe After Effects CS3 doesn't support MXF P2 output.

Are you talking about DVCProHD Wrapped in a Quicktime Container? If it's one of those you need a later version of Final Cut Pro installed to have those codecs installed.
