"No Disk" error

I just upgraded to a quad 2 duo from an old p4 machine. After loading up Vegas 6 into the new machine I've run into a problem. When I try to load a veg file of project that I was working on with the old machine (stored on an external drive) I get the following error message:

Windows -- No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into the drive.

There are cancel, try again and continue options, but none of them seem to do anything.

I've tried putting the vegas cd back in the drive, but that doesn't do anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled vegas. Nothing.
I've disconnected and reconnected the external drive. Nothing.

I am, however, able to load media from the drive and otherwise work on the timeline with no apparent problems.

Can anyone give me a clue what's going on here?

Is the external drive using the same drive path/folder as the previous set up i.e. drive e, f, g etc.

I am not sure if the old path info is stored in the .veg file format if it is you will have to set up the path like your old computer. New media and .veg files are accepting you new set up.

Thanks!

Thanks!

That was it exactly. Thanks so much.

It happens probably dozens of times a day here, but I have to say, how cool it is to see people willing to help others out. A tip of the hat to DVXuser for bringing us all together.
