No Codec? After Effects 5 to Final Cut 5.1.4

I got an error when trying to render stating "Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card." And it doesn't play in quicktime either, saying it does not have the codec needed.

This was a .mov file that had transparency in it, made in AE 5. I'm not aware of the settings, as my co-worker exported it and then left. AE is on an old Mac, and we're moving the movies to a MacPro.

Any ideas?
 
What did he export it from AE as? The codec he chose most likely is one you do not have.

If you need to retain transparency, he should use the Animation codec. HUGE, but cross platform.
