No audio

I am rendering out of Vegas pro 8 to a DVD. It plays fine but I do not have audio.
First I dragged to video folder and opened up and file rendered as a type MPEG 2 and NTSC.
After rendering I put in DVD and hit burn DVD video disc.
Dragged the rendered file onto the DVD maker and hit burn.
What am I doing wrong?

If you're using the DVD Architect templates under MPEG-2 (which you should do), there is no audio. You render audio separately, as AC-3 or uncompressed WAV.

Name the file the same as your video, save it to the same folder, and DVD Architect will mate them automatically.

This is done because DVDs do not use MPEG audio, and it saves you from having to demux the audio out of the video and recompress the whole thing in DVD Architect.

Thanks David

Thanks David

I am using DVD movie maker. I have done it before with no problem, but it was with smaller size files. I don't recall rendering the audio separately.

If you render out of Vegas using the DVD Architect templates, there's never audio included. Do you know what template you used?

Hey David, that was the problem.
Thank you so much, I figured it was something simple, but just enough to drive you crazy if you don't know that one little step.

Spoke to soon

It play fine on the preview, but when we burn it to a DVD it stopped at 93% and kick out the disc. It said it cannot burn disc. I'm trying it again to see if I had a bad disc.
