Hi guys
For some reason I now have No Audio ( 5 tracks ) in my Project and yet I have audio in ..Project media folder and everywhere else including other vegas projects .
This happened once before and all I did was close the project and re-opened and all was good but now ..nothing .
I haven't changed any settings . I have had a look around but can't see anything that may have changed .
Any ideas ?
Thanks
Ian

HI David

On that project I created a Mpeg 2 file and no sound .
All the other projects have sound even outside of Vegas .
The first thing I checked was for the tracks being Muted but I haven't changed anything from 2 days ago ..that's when it was working just fine .
The only thing I can think of is that I accidently hit a key and changed the settings if that is possible at all .

I just got home so I'll fire up the computer and see if the problem still exist.
Ian

EDIT

David ..I restarted the computer and opened my project and once again no sound . I even created new projects and they were fine .
I re-opened the project 3 more times and no sound until the 4th time and now there is sound ..HUH!!!.....A computer clitch or a Vegas hiccup ?

anyone else have this issue ?
I am curious to find out what happened .

Now, wait . . .

Are you saying there was no sound when you played the timeline inside Vegas?

Or are you saying there was no sound after you rendered an MPEG-2 file and tried to play it in something else?

If you rendered the file, did you use a DVD Architect template? If you did, then there will be no audio rendered.

Hi David

There was NO sound in the vegas project timeline at all....I always render using the Dvd Architect 24p widescreen with audio clicked .

I just find it strange that there was no sound in the timeline for some time and like I said on the 4th try there was sound ..just weird ..kind of think maybe it was a Vegas hiccup. I rendered last nigth a Mpeg 2 using the above template and plays OK .
Other than that Vegas is Great!!!
Thanks for your help David . I am curious as to what may have caused this .

I used the MPEG-2 DVD Architect 24P and didn't have any sound (I learned that sound isn't rendered when using this template). But how do I 'click' the audio (I assume there's a box to click before rendering, but cannot locate it)?

KarlB,

I posted in another thread:

Specifically, go to the Custom dialog, on the Audio tab, and select the checkbox that says "Include audio stream".

Try that.

Not much point in doing that, though, if you're planning to go to DVD using DVD Architect. You should render the video and audio separately, because if you render them as the same file, DVDA will re-render them. This adds time to your DVD authoring -- and it could be hours depending the length of your video.

Thanks, David.

Okay, last question :-)

When I'm in DVD architect and have the video and audio in two seperate files, how do I get the two together to put them on DVD (since I won't be able to use Vegas' timeline)?

Much thanks!

David,

What if we're rendering a MPEG-2 for "Horrorfest"? Can you use DVDA to create the MPEG-2 file that would be uploaded for the contest DVD?

Good tip David , thanks.
Stupid question but what you use to render out the audio as ? sorry this isn't my field .

Ian

You render your MPEG 2, and for audio ac3 stereo or ac3 surround if doing surround. Preferably using the same name for both audio and video, this way archictect will marry both automatically.
