No Admission-Fee Festivals...

Does anyone know what the best film festivals are to showcase a 20 minute fiction short filmed on super 8mm (but finished digitally), and that DON'T CHARGE A SUBMISSION FEE. I am the proud producer of the film and also completely broke to be paying $40 to $50 for each submission (that's like applying for college). The director is even more broke than I am so it's up to me (Being a producer I can actually afford postage stamps :cheesy:).

EDIT:

Oh, the thread title should have read "No Submission fee festivals..." I guess mentioning the whole college thing has brought up irreconcilable traumas and the memories of the whole admission process has taken over my brain. :zombie_smiley:

Thank you very much. Does anyone know which are the better ones in terms of reputation or in overall benefit for the filmmakers?

its true, i submitted last year. (unfortunately I wasn't selescted, can you believe the nerve of those frenchies!)

They also only pick about 20 shorts every years, so good luck lol ;)

Does anyone know if Cannes is extremely picky about having all music rights cleared in order to be selected? (one of our tracks is classical music from a commercial CD).
