No 35mm adapter for PDW-F330 XDCAM HD? Why not?

Suppose you owned a proline 1/2" or 2/3" camera. Both formats still have way too much inherent depth-of-field, compared to 35mm motion picture cameras. You could mount a high quality achromatic diopter right onto its bayonet mount to focus onto the ground glass (I don't know, could you?). With the added sensitivity of a proline camera, you could better afford the two-stop light loss. And you wouldn't waste any optical properties going through an attached zoom, since pro cameras have interchangeable lenses. Cinemek? Redrock? You listening?

Oh. Duh. How much is the Pro35? Yes, it would mechanically fit a 1/2" Sony camera, since nearly all pro video cameras now use Sony's B4 bayonet mount, but I don't know if the optics would work for a 1/2" imager.

I found the price at ZGC.com, their US distributor. Well, holy sh!t. For $27,000, I could afford a MUCH better camera instead.

the maker of the Letus35/A/Flip, Quyen, stated awhile back that he is developing an adapter to be used on the JVC HD100. I know it's 1/3", but couldnt it easily be adapted for 1/2" or 2/3"?

I opened a new thread with a poll too there quoting this request. Participate if you wish 'cause it's@Jonathan where he can hear us. Well and we just can wait...

That doesn't do anything to make your depth-of-field shallower. It simply allows you to mount Nikkor 35mm still lenses on your F330. There will be a "focal multiplier" effect (technically, merely a cropping effect). Any 35mm still lens attached to this adapter will have a much more telephoto effect.

And with much more telephoto effect, shallower 35mm Dof -- right?

LOL, the way the voice in my head read this I was rolling on the floor dying of laughter!:D

But yeah, I don't know of any other 2/3" 35mm adapter that could help you out NBCShooter, the PRO35 seems to be all I know about that's tried and true.
