Stone to Direct 'Basic Instinct 3'?

Sharon Stone will direct Basic Instinct 3 in Britain, the actress has revealed. The blonde star is keen to continue the franchise - following her return as Catherine Tramell in the recently released sequel - but wants to step behind the camera next time around. Stone, 48, says, "There's a script for the next part of the story - but I would like to direct it rather than star in it. "It will be filmed in the UK again as the setting is more intense and gritty."

She produced II, so who cares? Isn't this franchise dead anyway? I mean, who cares about what happens to Catherine without Mike Douglas around for her to abuse anyway?

Lame.

there shouldn't have been a second one.

my complaint is more about there actually being a third one not so much she's directing....

I can't imagine them making a third after the second bmobed at the theater. I mean, it only made 3.25 million in it's opening weekend!

I really believe the poor box office showing on this one will put the nail in the coffin. At least I can hope. :kali:

I'm really suprised that you people are so closed minded. Basic Instinct 2 is a very well thought out, inteligent a deap thriller with a strong erotic tone. I challenge anyone to find a single flaw in the entire film, be it with the acting, directing, and in my opinion this is the single best shot film I've ever seen. I think that the progression that they have taken this character through, including the new depths of insanity and heights of intellectual manipulation make the first film look like a children's pop up book when put into comparison with this film. It is a sad state of affairs when people are so closed minded that they refuse to look beyond the paradigm established by the first picture and open themselves up to the entire universe of the second film. Personally I think that this is a franchise the equivilent of Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings. I think that the films attract a more sophisticated and artsy audience though. The Basic Instinct films are a true mark of American artform and I think even this second film will ultimately be considered one of the greatest films of all time.

Wait... I didn't see the second one, and thought it was a bad idea to begin with... Anyone wanna buy a bridge?

Bwahahaha... fine satire...

These could all be debated but:

Empire vs. Star Wars
Austin Power International Man of Mystery vs. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me
The Hustler vs. Color of Money (could be debated)
Godather II vs Godfather I (could be debated)
Aliens vs. Aliens
Harry Potter 2 or 3 or 4 vs. Harry Potter 1

The Hustler HANDS DOWN WINNER. The Color of Money just didn't do it for me. I was extremely disappointed.

While I liked The Godfather, I agree this is a case you could debate.

Again, Aliens is the hands down winner, but in this case I really enjoyed Alien. Everything that followed these two was complete trash.
