So I have had a hard time searching for a resolution to this issue because it's actually a hard one to explain but I will be as clear and concise as possible. Filmed a speaking engagement for several hours the other day. I shot 3 cards on one camera (1 clip per card).
Clip_001 - shows in properties that it's 106 GB
Clip_002 - shows 17 GB
On the front end, these are correct sizes in conjunction with what I captured but here's where it get tricky.
Clip_001 - should be 1.5 hours
Clip_002 - 23 minutes
When I open Clip_001, whether it be in quicktime on a mac or PPro on a PC, the content of Clip_001 is always the same as the content in Clip_002. Clip_002 plays the correct content.
No backups were made yet as that is what I was in the process of doing when this was discovered. Before anyone says always make backups on set, it was not an option unfortunately. However, in an attempt to reduce the risk of issue I used offload to dump the cards and run checksum verification. Interestingly enough the verification file is nowhere to be seen for this particular card/clip.
I'm currently running a deep scan to see if I can recover the file, and trying to run it through copies and transcodes to see if something will work but I would love more ideas.
