Nintendo Wii (!@!*!)

I'm a longtime Nintendo fan (if there is such a thing). Got my own restored Donkey Kong machine. I've met Shigeru Miyamoto...got his business card (his title was "General Manager" lol).

Sometimes I think Nintendo gets a little too creative with the hardware for its own good. But they are still in the fight, and could surprise everyone this next round.

Microsoft has really impressed me with the Xbox, and these days I find myself playing the Xbox 360 more than anything else.

I've heard rumor that "Wii" will fully embrace online and wireless functionality. . . and that Nintendo will offer its entire back catalog of games (plus games from other systems) through a Wii online service! That would be a smart move.
 
All this talk makes me really miss my Nintendo.


fact: I onced owned 200 Nintendo game titles.
I met half of my friends because of Nintendo.
I failed English class because of Nintendo.
I learned Kung Fu because of Nintendo.
Our electric bill was costly.
I never seen the sun in 4 months......Damn Link to the Past!


Nintendo will always be in my heart.

the main thing that blows for me is that my primary TV is a 720p LCD projector. So I'm longing for an HD Wii :) I think more and more people will be as HD is getting embraced faster and faster in the home market.

The videos of people playing the Wii on Nintendo.com look pretty sweet, although a staged. If it can do all that, then it will certainly reinvent gaming as a more active endeavor. Though, if it's like the Power Glove, it's gonna suck.

Imagine the possibilities with that controller. Why masturbate for real anymore? :)
 
Has anyone seen the lame controller for this system? This to me is the downfall to this system, they made it to interactive for its own good, I don't want the controller to do something just because I tilt it. I get pissed at games alot and throw controllers, so it's not really a good thing, to have tilt sensors and all that. What 35 year old guy is going to want to be waving a remote at TV to play a video game. I know I at 20 wouldn't even want to do this, talk about looking stupid.

The system itself I don't have a problem with but if they at least gave you the option of this controller or a conventional one.

EDIT: I take that last part back,there are 4 ports for GameCube controllers, thank god.

they are also releasing a supernintendo-esque controller that has joysticks. I'm looking forward to loosing endless hours of my life downloading and playing nintendo classics on it.

And don't give me the "why don't you just get a controller and play roms on your computer" argument. It's not the same.
 
Definately is not the same.

Plus i can't wait to play LOZ: twilight princess on my wii. Or connect my wii with my DS lite for donwloadable content.
