Nintendo DS - anyone have any experiences

my signifficant other wants a Nintendo DS and one of those "brain" games.

should I go out and buy one or is it a total waste of money like my gameboy advance?
 
when u say "like my gameboy advance" it sounds like you think thats a waste of money.

considering that's a partable console with lots of great games... and the DS is a portable console with lots of great games... then I guess the answer would be obvious lol
 
the advance was a waste of money because you can only see what's on the screen if it's angled just right in the right light. the question is if the DS has some other annoying feature that makes it equally annoying to use.

in that case, no it's not a waste. The DS (and new GBA's like I have) use backlit LCDs and loot really perty :)
 
The DS rocks- I got Jane one for her birthday, and there's tons of great games for it. She got the Brain Age game- it's very stimulating and fun.

Not a waste at all!
