Ninja Assassin

How did I miss this? Apparently this came out a few years ago. I was over my friend's house the other day and from the first frame, I couldn't stop watching it. This is not my type of genre but wow, I haven't seen a Ninja movie this well made in(don't think ever). I guess this must of tanked at the box office because I haven't heard much from this. Here's the trailer and trust me, the trailer does not do the film justice. If I saw this trailer most likely I would not see the film and I think that's what happened to most people.

This was just a great action flick period. I wonder if it's a remake of some Japanese film, but wow the visuals, fighting, FX, everything was flawless.

Only beginning of this movie was OK, then it went downhill and i lost interest somwhere in the middle, so i even didnt finished it.

I think the fake cgi blood was meant to look comic-book-ish (or manga-ish). They certainly could have afforded to do it with practical effects, so it must have been an 'artistic' choice.
I thought the film was boring, and started working on my computer half way through....

It could have also been about getting the right rating. With CG blood, you can take it out or leave it in.

I was glad that the action went one step above my expectations. The CG blood didn't bug me very much, but I do agree it would have been better if it were real .

It was so over the top I loved it :) I watched it at a midnight showing when it released and the 7 or 8 people in the theatre were enjoying it as much as we were. I actually bought it on DVD since it was like $5 :)

Yeah the title threw me off, Assassin assassin as I call it. Shogun assassin makes sense as the man a former executioner for the shogun is turned against him and ends up being hunted and kills all his men and sons eventually killing him, though that is just the American dub in the real version the man he is fighting is from a rival sword school who took over as the shoguns executioners. Don't get me wrong I love the American dub it's just weird what they did with it.

Apparently 13 assassins is very good, I have not been up on martial arts movies for a while so I'm not quite sure what is out there these days. Though I may check out this movie but I was turned off immediately for the title indicating the type of inaccuracies that might exist within the movie itself, though that is just my assumption so maybe it's time to check it out. It can't be as bad as the new karate kid where he is in china learning kung fu.....

I think there is a misconception going on here; ninja doesnt mean 'assassin'; according to historic records they were more like field op. agents; main part of their duty was spying and sabotage, as well as assassinating people... So there is nothing wrong or confusing with the title. As for the movie, well done but rather forgettable....
