Nikon User Thread

Matt, I made a number of adjustments to levels in Lightroom to make it work as well as it is. The original was difficult to see anything. The only other thing I knew to do was to create different layers in PS and work it that way, but it was not bothering me enough for the effort. I just thought it looked like something a doctor might have hanging in his waiting room or something. Not my normal "style"....assuming I have one. HEHE.

Ahh. It's all good. If you want sections to pop out, try adjustment layers w/ their layer masks. TONS of control.

That bird looks hungry. I'm outta here. . .

I love this shot, although it comes off a bit as an ad for Ford (I'm more of a Honda guy myself, lol).

Bill, all of these shots you've been posting are incredible. Really. Fantastic. Work.

What are they for, by the way? model shots? or magazine prints? advertising? for fun? or???

Thanks for the compliment, and the feedback.

Honestly, I've been shooting a little over a decade but picked up my first D-SLR about 4 months ago, so I'm just trying to get comfortable with the format. Which in my mind includes working with Photoshop.

I'm learning from all your shots and trying to pick up little workflow tricks here and there. It's incredibly fun and addicting.

And I've actually booked a few gigs so my little investment is paying off.

Great shot, Adam. looks like a scene out of Poltergeist!

I KNEW there was something familiar about that! Seriously. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I was most definately reminded of something. Thanks for bringing that up!:beer::beer:

And nice to hear you went digital with your camera (finally, Mr. Old School), and working with digital images and photoshop is very, very addicting indeed.

great work bill.

first model shoot, think it turned out good.

Great pics. I absolutely dig the sh!t out of what you did with the color schemes. Each one has its own mood and flavor. Very good color grading. And awesome composition on the full shots of her. The coat ones are particularly appealing, though I'm not sure why. Mayhaps I have a small fetish with Eskimos?

That chick is smokin. The tomboy/stomp-a-mudhole-in-your-ass vibe she gives off is just rocking. My only crit would be she had incredible eyes, and most of the shots are not head shots. But, she has a killer body, so I may have to rethink that.

Killer body, or gorgeous eyes? Which to concentrate on? Meh, I think it may have to be the body . . .

Thanks Matt, great comment, that made my night. just go down with another model shoot, went OK, so I might be posting a few of those up soon.

How common are dead pixels on a sensor? I brought some photos into a program and checked them out and it seemed like my camera had a couple of dead pixels. I checked to see if it was the monitor and confirmed that it wasn't. Has anyone else experienced this type of problem?

This camera has less than 20000 photos on it. Now why would there be dead pixels!

I shot a photo with the cap on and brought that into both photo shop and this program called capture one. photo shop made the dead pixels disappear and capture one kept them.

WTF??? The camera is basically new. Never been in any harsh conditions or anything like that. Not exposed in extremely hot temperatures or anything like that! Im so confused!
