Some photos from a BTS shoot. The last shots that I did on my D70. All of these were on a 50mm F1.8 at high ISO 1000+

Hi Larry... I've missed dozens of pages of this thread, so I went back and looked. Cool shot. Personally, I'd find the ribbed edges of the coin a little more interesting to hold focus on. Maybe try the same shot with some more exotic money? The Europeans and Latin Americans and, well, pretty much every other country has far more interesting coins than we do!

Those last two are real nice, rawfa.

Here's a few from a shoot this past weekend...

More coming, but I gotta get some work done at some point...

Flash was connected via 3 ft. hot shoe nikon cord and i was bent down holding it near the ground. It was kind of an awkward shot.

With the warm weather, the pond in our neighbor is coming to life. I captured a few good shots of this Great Blue Heron; I liked this close up cropped image of him after he caught a fish despite the foreground reeds that I could not avoid.

D80, Nikon 18-200mm VR lens at 200mm, f5.6, ISO 400, 1/500 sec shutter (shutter priority) from about 25 feet. Post done with Adobe Lightroom 1.4

Went out by the bay during "magic hour" to see what I could get.

And my absolute favorites, the USS MIDWAY in port. I must've snapped fifty shots from this spot here, the hardest thing was narrowing it down to what I felt were the strongest.

rawfa, I think those are all shot at 50mm. I use that lens the majority of the time. I know people who use them exclusively, which I think is a good practice, but I guess I'm just not that hardcore.

Processing done in Lightroom. Lots of tweaks to curves, hue in the highlights and shadows, color balance, saturation, clarity, etc.

Dougspice, that last shot of the filing cabinet is one of my favorites EVER. Could you PM me a link or something to the full res copy, I'd love to use it as my desktop. That's really fantastic. Talk about right place at the right time.

I'm going to break the fundamental rules of this thread and post some photos SHOT ON FILM. Nikon N90s, 35mm, mostly 3200 ASA Kodak B&W.
