OK, well somehow a hanging chad wasn't counted or people smoked crack and put me in the drivers seat of this ship we can call the Titanic, so we'll just move forward full steam ahead because I don't think there are many iceburgs in this water.

Well here we go:

This Weeks Subject
The Substance of Life - Take a picture of something dealing with water.

Editing
As much post processing as you want to use, run with it

Due Date
All photos should be posted by July 31st

I think it's pretty self explanitory... let's say just submit one picture though...

I know it's not as good of an idea as Matt's, but I think that it could be fun.

This has nothing to do with anything, but it's a zero PP crop from the famous corn series... yes, I'm a pained farmer. I like's me some arm's length self-portraits... which is going to be a future suggestion... just don't drop your camera!

I got a feeling that Matt is going to go all out on this contest just to make everyone shoot a self portrait from arms length!

Just got my new but used D50 and lens tonight, and am loving it so far. Took a couple snapshots, still learning the camera, so here is one of my first shots.

First_Shot_1.8.jpg

Taken with a Nikon 50mm 1.8f opened up all the way for a nice shallow DOF look. Messed with in photoshop but nothing to major.

I can definitely say I am liking the camera so far.

Can I post a shot take with a D200?

I'll leave it up to everyone, but I think it would be great if this grew into the all out Nikon thread, so I see no reason why not... Anyone object?

-Jeremy

Of course... are you kidding me?

Maybe we should have a thread that's all inclusive... as DVXuser members first and Canon/Nikon/Ansel Adam's large format cams.

I know where I fit into the fray... but I expect to eventually get better.

Hahaha, you guys are miles ahead of me. I've just waited forever to replace my Nikon FE2 film camera, which I've had for about 20 years. I wanted a digital camera that might last that long, but I'm sure with the way technology is going, I'm going to have to be happy with half that...:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

what is it with this thread and cats? this is like the 10000000000th cat pic i swear.

nice shot though.....

I like that pic, but it's a prime example of why fast glass still isn't fast enough in many indoor shots... a bounce flash would have made that shot much better... the soft focus is probably even due to the light situation. (shutter too slow)

OK, so this has now become the Nikon User thread...

And I have an idea for a drinking game. Everytime Matt says 'Flash' you take a shot! Seriously though, he has me looking at the SB800 like it's a hot chick... I am thinking that I need to purchase.
