I picked up one of these today at a fire sale for cheap. However, there's a lot of dirt between the elements and the focus ring tends to stick a bit. Is it worth it trying to send it to nikon to get repaired, or should I be looking for a third party refurbisher? I disassembled it a bit to see if I could get at the elements myself, but it seems the previous owner had stripped a few of the lens' screws and I was unable to get past the aperture housing.
Kinda bummed about finding such an awesome lens in such a state of disrepair. But it was only $15.
