Nikon lenses

I don't think many manual lenses have been made since the 1990s, most people want the auto, its sad, most pawn shops where I come from will no longer buy and sell the old manual

hello

correct me if i am wrong but why should we buy manual ones ? auto focus can be used either in manual and auto, so this is perfect...isn't it ?

Because.....(Takes deep breath)... Autofocus are crap when trying to manual focus, and you HAVE to manual focus on a 35 mm adaptor. If you want NEW manual lenses in Nikon mount, Zeiss do some VERY nice lenses that might have been designed with cine in mind. Bit pricy though.

pretty pricy being the understatement of the year, but if you get lucky enough to find them at a price you can afford, snag them zeiss lenses are amazing.

my next major buy will be a ziess 1.4 pl mount, and a plmount for the M2, well maybe not my next one, but someday I'll have a lens box full of them.

I know the Nikon AF lenses don't feel quite as nice to focus as the MF versions, but they really aren't too bad. Besides, my 28mm MF is compete crap in the corners. I'd rather use a 17-34mm AF zoom any day.

I second the Zeiss. They are expensive but you are getting high quality. They use some of the technology put into the Zeiss/Arri Master Prime series. Resulting in a faster lens when you need it and some sharp images.

The glass on them is larger than standard Nikon lenses, resulting in a higher quality image.

My Zeiss Nikon 50mm is beautiful and I can't wait to get more money to get the 85mm and the 35mm.

I'd love it if I could get a Zeiss Nikon fit zoom lens, like an 18mm-50mm.

I heard the issues with autolenses wasn't so much the focussing, but also the auto-iris controlled by the camera bodies...

I might have heard wrong.
