Nikon D80 B+W??

Hey guys! I just got a Nikon D80 yesterday and I've been shooting with it left and right. Tonight I tried B+Ws for the first time. They showed up B+W on my camera, but when I imported them into iPhoto, they were in color! Anyone know what is up?

Did you take them in RAW or jpeg? (Does iphoto even handle RAW?) If so, it could be that iphoto is just showing you the RAW image with no settings applied. That happens when I take a B&W photo with my Canon and open it in Aperture. In Canon's software, it keeps all of my settings and will display in B&W.

Hmm, I took them in RAW. Do you think I'd have to take them JPEG to do black and white? I really really don't want to

No, you can continue to shoot in RAW, but i'm pretty sure iPhoto doesn't read the RAW format to well, so maybe it just isn't taking into account your format settings?
