Nikon D4 vs Sony FS100U (Especially in low light and for dynamci range)

The D4 is also weather sealed.

If the mic input is reasonably quiet a juicedlink would be a good option for decent sound.

At an expense. Thees lenses were not created to be peeped through like that, so you're going to magnify at least one issue wide open: chromatic abberations or fringing. And that's just one, who else knows what you'll get. AT least when you get down to the deepest crop.

Nikon has automatic CA removal from still files on its latest DSLR iterations but I am not sure if this process has or can be applied to video shot on the D4. Most newer Nikkor lenses also have lens coatings like Super Integrated Coating and Nano Crystal Coat that help with these issues....you would be hard pressed to see any CA in lenses like their 200mm f2 etc.

I am shooting a solar eclipse at the end of this year and this 2.7x crop mode would be an excellent candidate for utilising a shorter, lighter and cheaper lens/telescope combination. It will be very useful at times I reckon.

Add one of the Sound Devices PIX recorders, and you'll have XLR inputs for your D4 too. Pretty appealing.
