I'm thinking about getting this lens to use in conjunction with my DVX100b and Letus35 Extreme. Has anyone used it before in any capacity? I'd be interested in any thoughts on how images from this setup might appear.

Personally, I think you shouldn't waste your money. Get a f1.4 for about 1/3 the price. For the little light gained, it's not worth it.

I’ve always been curious about this one... if one would have both lenses, would there be a difference with both stopped down to 1:1.4 equivalencies? Rumor has it the 1:1.2 is the sharper lens overall, but I’m wondering if one would notice that difference on an adapter. There must be something more to this 1:1.2 than just on more click on the blade openings?

Something I've noticed about my 50mm f/1.4 is that, when mounted on my adapter (SGpro rev 3) I don't see any major difference light-wise between f/1.4 and f/2 (more like a slight hotspot that appears in the center of the image at f/1.4). Once you go from f/2 to f/2.8 and so on down, it's easily recognizable as a stop's difference each time. I'd be curious to see how the f/1.2 performs in this respect.

Does anyone know why there wouldn't be that much difference between f/1.4 and f/2 on the adapter? It's much more pronounced (as you would expect) on my Nikon D50 body.

I experience the SAME thing, Oedipax. I have the same lens and I see very little difference.

Not sure how 1.2 - 2 would be, though.

I have the 1.2 - it is reported to be the sharpest production Nikon lens when stopped down to F2. You get exactly what you pay for. If the 1.4 is all you need / want then be happy with that.

From what I've heard, it's especially terrible when wide open though....I mean lenses usually don't perform at their best when wide open, but this one performs especially bad at f1.2

It might save your butt in low light though; I’m just wondering if I should have invested in the zooms [vs. the primes] seeing the 80-200mm [Nikon] starts at 1:2.8. I think there’s a 17-35mm equivalent too.
