Motion Picture & Television Art Director and Set Designer.
The hours are highly variable, but for the last several months I've been on a feature where we usually start between 0700 and 0900, and wrap between 1800 and 1930 (we're in pre-production, and with a casual attitude about in-and-out times people come and go as it suits them...). On projects where the top kick is a #@^&!$* martinet the hours are usually something like 0800 - 1830.
Up at 0500 to work out once or twice per week, usually in the sack by 2200 or 2300.
I only drink coffee on weekends. Lots of tea on work days, though.
Several years ago I was working on a show shooting at the Warner stages in Rosarito, Mexico (just a bit south of Tijuana). We were doing typical six-day location weeks, and because my wife couldn't leave LA at the time, every Saturday afternoon I'd drive up to Los Angeles, spend Saturday night and Sunday there, then get up at 0400 Monday morning to drive back down to Rosarito. After a few weeks of this I found myself arriving in the lot in Rosarito with no memory at all of the drive down. None. I'd have to get out of the car and do a walkaround, inspecting to make sure that nothing (or no one) was stuck to the front end...
*edit* actually noticed the thread title, all of a sudden...
...worked the night shift as an animator while working for NDEI in North Hollywood, several years back...we were so short on workstations and so slammed for time that we were hot-seating in order to make our delivery dates...
Didn't really alter my diet or caffeine habits. Just slept from 0700 to 1500 and worked from 2000 to 0600.
