Night vision effect HD?

I've been looking in the web for a HD camcorder w/ night vision mode but cant find it. Im shooting a short that has the quarantine effect. Does anybody know how they did that? Or was it in post?

What camera is affordable for this effect too? I know people that have the night vision fx but its SD.
 
For night vision, i'd shoot on an SD camera & upscale it using Instant HD. I doubt since it's night vision you'll notice too much.

What is 'night vision'... well how it is represented in many films is it is 'monochromatic', typically 'green', and slightly 'soft/fuzzy' from the usually sharp images, and lights have major 'bloom' and 'trails'...

The Sony HDR-SR12 (and similar) have a 'night vision' option, if you want a low end camera that has such a feature...
