Night Sky Videography?

Anyone do night filming of planets and such with their HVX?

Just wanted to know what image quality you were getting using the 2fps trick.

you'd probably want to use a digital SLR with a longer shutter than 2fps will let you.
7 second exposure or so depending on how much detail you want to show.

Or you could pick up a telescope with an adapter. I know they have setups for still cams, and I suspect you can find similar for video.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a T-adaptor large enough for the lens of the HVX.

I'd love to find one though as I have a Meade 2120 LX6 10" SCT made for astrophotography.

I've hooked up a SLR to it before but have never seen much in the way of hooking up video cameras.

Although they do make color CCD cameras designed especially for attaching to scopes.
The images are incredible.

We're trying to shoot as slow as possible MiniMan13. 2fps is the slowest we can go.

But, unlike your D40, we can shoot at 60fps. :)
