Nice Shoes

Just finished watching it. Was the first killing a MacGuffin to get the place into lockdown or were we supposed to get something more from it?

There was a color shift a about 2:00 which was distracting. It would have been nice to CC the earlier shots to the ones right after the two minute mark. There were a couple of shots later in the movie that were also like the first office shots. I thought some of the framing could have been a little better, too. The only other shot that really stood out was when the fx shot of info being handed off, the iPhone moved but the percentage download didn't...it pulled me out of it for a moment.

I thought you did a pretty good job on the short but I didn't feel any connection with any of the characters. That said I thought the acting was better than most of the shorts.

I didn't particularly care for you scoring, it tended to grate on me.

Overall, a fairly solid effort that could improve in a couple of areas but still showed a lot of promise. :thumbsup:

EDIT: Oh, yes, kudos for having a cast dominated by women :thumbsup:

I loved the handoff to the woman and child outside Art's, very nonchalant. Nice audio considering you on a fairly busy street in Glendale.

Is it industrial espionage, governmental or what?

I like the mostly female cast :-) however there are some problems with the sound. It's a little bit weak. The camera angles can also be improved. The acting is nice though. Good job!

Just caught the flick. Enjoyed it.
The audio definetely needs to be cleaned up, what with the transitions and breaks, etc.
Also, the music didn't feel quite right. It didn't push the tension of her trying to steal the mole information at all. However, you shot it well enough for it to still be a tense moment.

Delta Victor X-Ray user one. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA nice work. This film was definetely made for this site.

Yes, I agree with the casting of many women. Ain't nothin' wrong with that. Also, their acting was good. The dialogue was smart and sounded right.

What didn't work for me was the boss killing the, I can only guess, handiman and then putting the place on lock-down, etc. Unless this is some kind of incomplete project it's hard to see what you want to do with this. IT just makes no sense in the story. It just didn't work for me. And without that the rest of the film seems unmotivated.

Hope that helps. Can't wait to see what else you submit later. Stay with the female cast. It's a nice, refreshing change.
 
Nice shoes? Shoes had nothing to do with the movie and of all things, it was a ‘TBC’? The film started out nicely with the guy getting strangled, but it just got confusing from there. The dialog would have been better if you actually had a CIA headquarters instead of a cubicle office space. The direction just did not work for me.

The audio definitely needs more work and if anything, this film seems like a works in progress and unfinished.

The acting was actually pretty good. The score became a bit overbearing and distracting at points, but other than that was fine. The audio during the phone call was definitly off and distracting a bit. The story actually did get me interested and I was almost disapointed to see the "To Be Continued..." at the end. The cinematography could be improved, but wasn't poorly done in the least. Good job and good luck.
 
good acting, disappointed there was a 'to be continued', and the phone conversation threw me as the caller was louder than the receiver.
