Hi chaps I just received my production review model of the Sony NEX-VG10 and so far I am very impressed with the camcorder. It's not without niggles especially in the sound department but on the whole I am impressed. I will be producing a video review setting it against the Canon 5DMk11 and it's sister camcorder the HXR-MC50. One thing I am not as aware of is the rolling shutter so compared to the Canon it's streets ahead already...or is it ?

You can see my paper review called "First Play" on www.hdwarrior.co.uk

Thanks again Philip Johnston

Interesting...those screen grabs were impressive. I'm curious to see how it turns out, although I can't say I'm at all as excited as I am for the AF100. Two totally different markets, yes, but they're still both new interchangeable-lens camcorders.

Sony really threw their arms in the air and said "screw what people want", especially with the market of hdslr cameras out there, as well as the up and coming af100.

All they had to do was give it 24p..

They can have reasons not to offer 24p or audio levels control.
Most probably both will be present in upcoming cameras positioned above current models.
