news feed cutting in and out/bad reception

I have a clip of a news feed that I made.. I want it to look as if the feed either is getting periods of bad reception or cutting out like the older tv's used to do before digital came along... or as if there were electronic interference... can anyone tell me what effect I could use to achieve this look for this..

I think I found my own solution.. I have had the Twitch plugin all along.. I am sitting here thinking "DUH"..... sometimes working late at night ISNT helpful.. haha
 
There are a few "bad tv" presets built in to AE which will need tweaking to get serviceable results. One of Video Copilot's plugins (Twitch) can give you some good distortion effects. Basically look into any plugin/preset that will allow you to separate the RGB channels, warp the image, and add noise.

That should be a good starting point.
 
Thanks... I was messing with twitch all day and couldnt seem to get what I am looking for... maybe more of the signal cutting in and out.. Ill keep search... supposed to be a "live" feed to the studio. i want it to simulate that the source is even maybe has static as if they were losing signal at times....
