Hello Everyone!

My name is Paul, and have purchased a Canon xh-a1...my background has been in still photography for the last 20 years or so, as a semi professional on occasion.

I am completely new to video on a prosumer level. I have selected Final Cut Pro as my first editing software and am currently training on it now. New camera should arrive in a couple of weeks (I'm currently in Afghanistan, so mail is a little slow at times!).

I appreciate all the volunteered knowledge here and look forward to learning...

Welcome to the forum Paul, I also have been a stills fan but for over 33 years and have been lucky to balance that with my core work in audio.

I flipped to the darkside of pro video about 6 years ago but also chose FCP as my edit weapon but have found it very easy to use and learn.

Good luck and there are plenty of people here to help you out if you have any questions.
