Newbie to audio for Vegas

Hello Vegas users:

I’m a newbie to Sony Vegas and I’ve been searching for Vegas tutorials on a regular basis. The ones I’ve found have helped tremendously for editing my video and have increased my knowledge of my camera and to creating movies.

One tutorial in general has been very difficult for me to locate, and that would be a general and beginners basic tutorial on Vegas audio. I need to understand what my waveforms should look like, sound like, how to manipulate them…the basics! From there, I would like to learn how to create stereo or stereo like affects from my double mono recordings, etc.

Are there any great Vegas tutorials on audio out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated…Thanks

It is better if you use Sony SoundForge for audio. That's what I do, then I transfer the sound to Vegas. SoundForge it is a very professional program to work with audios

Thanks Depasan,

I’ve read of Sound Forge before, but I was always under the impression it was suited more for the musician, whereas my videos are more of the talking head variety, I am also under the impression that Sound Forge is a duplication of what I already have, with my full version Vegas-7.

But since your post, I did look up tutorials for Sound Forge-8 and have found several, which gives me relief that tutorial help, may be on the way.

Depasan, do you also own Vegas’s full version NLE? There seems to be a huge array of audio help with this program. I’m wondering, if these two applications are similar enough…Vegas and Sound Forge, that the Sound Forge tutorials would be help enough for me?

Any further opinions?

Sounds like you aren't looking for Vegas specific audio manipulating, as much as you are looking for global audio tips. Search Google for audio forums as they are a huge help in understanding this stuff.

This is a great place too: http://filmsound.org/
