Newbie On 35mm Adapter For A1

Im new to the "film" look for video. Been shooting wedding videos mainly, but want to advance into more cinema type shooting.

My question:

I assume your using 35mm adapters first for the wide-angle and DOF benefits. What is a good buy for an adapter for the A1? Do the 35mm adapters use standard photo lenses? Bayonet mount or screw mounts?

Which brand would you advise for the A1 cam.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

There's several main choices: including the Redrock M2 ($1300), the Brevis ($1000), the SGPro ($850), and the Letus Flip Enhanced ($700).

All of these offer swappable lense mount (Nikon, Canon, Canon EOS, PL etc.) for all the photo lenses.

But especially with the A1 you have to factor in the cost of an HD monitor for focusing and for flipping the image. The adapter and the monitor pretty much go hand in hand. I've been wanting to make the leap for a while now but have held off because I couldn't afford a monitor yet.

Thanks for the info...........

Yeah, that "MONEY THANG", always gets in the way!:undecided Same problem here.

Ill get the A1 first.........surely I can do without the 35mm giget for a while.

Mo money, Mo money, Mo money :Drogar-Shock(DBG):

Take care and thanks again,

Jeff

You can pick up the WDR35pro from italy. It cost only 550euros with rod support. It seems to work very well with a A1. I sold it to a member here. And he seems to be doing well with the combi.

I think the price for the SGpro is not 850usd . Its 460pounds and 50pounds for a lens mount. That makes it about 1000usd
