I'm pretty new to all this but I was looking for a editing system for my mac book pro. I have a dvx100b and am happy with the results. I don't have an editor other than imovie which is crap. I don't have a lot of money for final cut but was wondering what I could get for around $300 that could do a pretty good job. Thanks

Another thing I plan on filming the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco this Sunday. It's a gay rights parade which should be interesting. Any ideas on how to make this... I have a lav and tripod and was thinking of doing some interviews and a briefing on the history. Any ideas or suggestions to make this a watchable video. I'm not gay but i'm sure a lot of gay people would enjoy it. Also if it is good what can I do with it? I'm very new to this and am just looking for input thanks!

As far as question A). you can get a student (non-upgradable) version of Final Cut Studio for about $500. If you aren't a student, find someone with a student ID. As for question B). you may want to find someone to shoot for you while you hold a shotgun mic. Lavaliers aren't for run-and-gun situations.
