Newbie - just saying Hi

I am moving up to a DVX100AE next week (from a consumer GS120) and wanted to thank you for all your posts on this forum that helped my make my choice.

I am a software developer and flamenco guitarist, based near Granada in Spain and fancy a stab at a documentary on the world of my flamenco friends.

If I ever film anything worth showing, I'll post it here first.

Ha! I was mentally preparing to say more or less the same thing, TL! Cept I wasnt going to stick a j/k in there!
 
Well this a promising start. An American in-joke:-)

Esteban has surfaced as a topic on my flamenco forum, along with "fire fingers" with much mirth. Hat and a nylon string guitar, a liddel Spanish and you're halfway to el arte de flamingo

I also typed my moniker incorrectly - it should be Escribano (as in scribe, clerk or writer). Not that makes much difference but I do have a stupid hat :-)

You can go to your User CP and change what name is displayed. You would still have "Escibano" as your log-in name, but the name we all see would be "Escribano".
 
At this early stage in the game, I would just scrap this one and create a new one. You don't want to get all the way to platinum and still have this bugging you, do you?

BTW, where the hell did Estaban even come from.....I had never heard of him till the QVC show but they were talkin like he's got more Billboard recognition than Barry Mannilo. And how bout that getup? Did he see that in his vision after "the accident"? He's not even very good, really. I am always suspicious of those who have insisted on wearing sunglasses indoors past 1988....at least in such a dead serious tone. But I just cannot break away from it whenever I happen to catch him on.

Hmmm... Seems I misspoke. In the old version of the forum software you could change what name was displayed to the other forum users.

I'm with the RunyonMan... you could just start over easily enough at this stage of the game.
