Newb Question....apple pro training series problems

Hi everyone...I tried to scout around the forums for the problems I'm having, but cant seem to find anyone with similar issues.

I'm running FCP 6 on my Imac (2.8 GHz..750 Gb hard drive 2GB of RAM..If this matters ?)

I'm trying to learn from the apple pro training series books. but whenever I try and watch a file from the first book (Final cut Pro 6)

It always says one or more frames were dropped in playback..then below that it says RT extreme has found that this is happening due to slow disks.

Is this a problem with my computer or should I return these books ?

Help at all is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you copy the files onto your HD or are you playing it back from the disc?

hi arges03..i believe i did it correctly ..in the blurb about when the disc shows up on ur desktop u just drag it to your hard drive and that copies it.

is that a wrong way to copy them? thanks for responding by the way. its really appreciated.

Just eject your disc and try it then to be positive.

cool thanks....should i possibly look into getting more ram ( only running 2 right now)

and an external hard drive and cd drive

Check the system requirements for your app. Do you meet them? if not, then you need to upgrade.
