New York I Love You

http://imdb.com/title/tt0808399/

A follow up of sorts to Paris Je T'aime. Love stories taking place in New York City.

Brett Ratner is directing one segment, Scarlett Johannson directing another. I know that Natalie Portman is acting in a segment. There will hopefully be a full cast list soon.

I LOVED Paris Je T'aime. On my Top 10 films of 07. Really looking forward to this.

I'd love to see Scorsese do a segment and it'd be awesome for DeNiro to get involved.

I didn't see where Scarlett was directing, BUT I did see the Hughes Brothers were each directing.

They should put a twist on these films. It could be some sh*tty place, and then say "I Hate You". Seriously.

Anyone ever see New York Stories, the anthology film with segments directed by Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, and Francis Ford Coppola? Scorsese's and Allen's segments were pretty good. Coppola's was horrible, although it did feature a little bit of a very young Adrien Brody. I'd recommend it (despite Coppola's segment).

Hope this is as good as Paris, je t'aime. That was at the top of my list last year
as well.

Ditto. Paris je t'aime was brilliant. Ihope the talent involved is at the same level as the Paris project.

hmmm...will rattner's segment be a throwback to his rap video roots? maybe it'll have a jay-z cameo...or mos def...

forgive me if i'm not jumping up and down about rattner's involvement.

in many ways, i think "Life Lessons" is easily one of Scorsese's top five best works.

Scarlett is directing

You know, seeing HDKILLEDFILM's struggle and major achievement in doing his film and getting it distributed:

It certainly p*sses me off a bit that Scarlett Johannson, a good actress, it has to be said, gets her directional debut with probably everything layed out for her- Kevin Bacon, a fabulous script that's not from her, an experienced crew, etc. Look at the picture. She's looking at the Lens with freaking sunglasses? Well, I hope to see something from this. It certainly looks like a marketing stunt to promote Scarlett's star power even more... Maybe I'm too indie biased and should wait and see, but, sincerelly...

How about a DVXUSER I LOVE MY HOMETOWN Fest? Normal competition rules, but with the ambition of a joint film distribution? Imagine: a worldwide "I Love" done by indies.

We might be struggling with budget, but we could give these guys a run for their money...

Dude, those are contrast viewing filters. Duh!

That is a great idea, you should post that as the next fest idea.

I haven't seen Paris, Je t'aime but I would like too. In any case doesn't this movie sound just like a re-hash. I mean its the same concept but with another city. Does that mean every major city will do something like this? What's the point then? Will it just be popular film makers making a movie about why they love a certain city? After a while it would just get boring.

Paris Je'taime was really good, saw it the other day, I'm really looking forward to this, will it be in Theaters or straight to DVD?

I hope all the NY films are shot as beautifully as the Paris one, that Elijah Woods, The Tourist (segment "Quartier de la Madeleine") was pure beauty..wow! I wanna see more from Vincenzo Natali.
