New way to accept credit cards (USA only I think)

I thought some of you are like me-- Never accepted credit cards because of the ridiculous merchant fees and minimums. I only get requests to pay by CC about 2 months out of the year.

Well not to sound like a advertisement. But I saw the TV ad about Square aka squareup.com went online and they seem like the way to go.

they send you a free swipe doohickey after you sign up and you're ready to accept credit cards. (Visa, MC, AMEX & Disc)
the swipe thingy plugs into your Iphone or Android and comes with an app to do everything. Only down side is you can't 'print-off' a receipt- only e-mail or SMS a receipt.
They take a flat 2.75% for each swipe (a little more for non-swipe) no other fees or dormancy fees. I'll see if this holds true, I have yet to use it.

just wanted to share.

I've been using it for a long time now, definitely recommend it. Make sure you specify yourself as a business (as opposed to individual) and they'll remove the $3,000/week transaction limit.

I did a video with the similar iSettle to show investors using my 7D more than a year ago and it seamed to be a good thing. But I don't like to pay percentage when selling stuff person to person so cash is still king.
