Okay, so I went on a real binge this week (fortunately or not, no purging yet... ;-)
First, I just picked up a used Schoeps 441 with swivel (yet another of my pretty good deals...$650 including wind screen.) Seemed like a good deal considering the MK41 capsule alone is now $850 new.
Second, I just ordered two Lectro R400a Rx's and two LM Tx's. The theory is that the R400a is a desktop/rackmount version of the 4xx series Rx. For the price, this seemed like the best option (~$1000 for each Rx/Tx combo). I'll let everyone know how it turns out. The R400a is a bit large for a bag, but I think it will actually work to get a couple of them in my bag, if need be. Remote Audio does have a cable that will work with them for my BDS, so who knows. If this all works, this may partially put to rest the G2 vs. Lectro 100 series (especially for those that are mostly doing cart-based work), given the price-point. So, if things go well, I'll have 3 G2's up for sale soon.
Finally, (and I didn't actually purchase this) for those with HD-P2's, Cascade Media (Frank is the contact there) has some sort of a mod for these recorders that improves the quality of the pre-amps. I will find out more and pass it along.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
Phil
