I have a 2 min clip that was shot in 720p mode on a P2 card and I need to make a WMV file. How can this be done? It was edited with FCS2. Iam in the process from switching from Vegas to FCS2. Thanks

Hi,

You need Flip4Mac WMV Studio Pro to do this. When it is installed on your system, you can do file > export > using quicktime conversion, and then choose WMV from the list. If you try and do this at the moment, it will just export white video, which is no good.

I use the WMV codec to send proofs off to people, as they are universally playable and the compression is pretty good.

I see. Thats another $99 to 179.00 bucks depending on which one. I thought for a moment that QT pro would do this. Thanks for the info hoarp001.

Unfortunately not, QT being an apple product wont touch any windows based codec. WMV studio is pretty cool though, it integrates into quicktime and you can convert video files to WMV right inside quicktime....

I believe that the guy who wants this clip has Flip Factory software. After looking at there website, they are the ones you are talking about.
