Just got my Mac and FCP and have a couple quick questions. First, when capturing F6 footage from the DVX, what do I select? 2:3:3:2 pulldown, or anamorphic or does it not matter? I'm just confused what best to select.

Does it matter on firewire cable brand? is there a better cable that will capture higher quality?

and lastly, how do I connect an external television? i have the PowerMac 2.0 standard with no upgrades. Just not sure how to connect it since there is no SVideo.

Yes, if you want to stay 24P digital through the entire process then capture using the 2.3.3.2 pulldown removal. If you shot it anamorphic then use it, if not... don't.

Shouldn't matter what cable brand you use... until it breaks!!

Run the SVideo out of your DVX or deck back to the tv. Set fcp's View - External Video - to All Frames.

I think we should make a FAQ at the top of the Final Cut Topic which will explain the most frenquently asked questions because they always ask the same basics question!

Make a search here there are a lot of topic on the FCP setting to capture and edit 24P adv, 24p and 30P
