New To DVX USER and introducing Web Series

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and just wanted to share with you my 5 part comedy web series called "The Expert" - it's about a guy who's frustrated with his own shortcomings at doing different jobs and is on a quest to find his expertise. Each webisode runs under 5 minutes and I shot it on the Sony PD150 which I normally use for shooting documentaries. I'm hoping to, God willing, upgrade to an HD 24p camcorder in the 3 thousand dollar range in 2010. Anyone got some recommendations for a good one?

Anyhow, you can watch webisode 1 and 2 of The Expert by going to my website at www.awakenpictures.com. Every monday we premiere the next part.

Thanks,

Tom Swift

I would look into panasonic HMC-150

Or even a VDSLR like canon 7D - You will need a separate audio solution like H4N but these cams are great at producing an image that looks more expensive than the camera.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the advice on the camcorders.

What do you think of the Sony HVR-V1U ? That's a camera I was looking into - I like the fact that it's a Sony camcorder and I can probably continue using the batteries that I own and that it has an XLR input/output as well as recording on minidv which provides a backup on tape of the raw footage.

Blessings,
Tom
