New to 24p and anamorphic

Hi, i am very new to the DVX. I have been shooting in 24PA and with an anamorphic adaptor. When i sat down to capture/edit, i didn't know where to begin. I managed to capture some footage using anamorphic and then tried to use the removal tool but it doesn't seem to appear in 24p. also it looks like it needs to be rendered? Can somebody kindly lay out the best way to capture and edit in these modes from capturing to editing settings. What are the specific settings for all the aspects of FCP5? i have done some previous reading on the site but i still am not sure about how to go about this process...any help would be great

First you should just shoot some test footage without the adapter since you seem to be struggling with the 24pa aspect. Once that's working then do a test with the anamorphic.

Also note that there's a help menu in FCP. Select it and type anamorphic in the search box and you shoudl have plenty of info.
