New System

For the first project on our new CNC was to make a rail system for the 7D... Rough sketch of the design that I've been working on for about two months and still working. I'm going to post the progress of this system, should be fun. The system hasn't been to finished yet just raw metal, but you get the idea

Just about got all of the leg work done, few more small adjustments and I'll be ready to cut out the final pieces. These parts are a bit chewed up being in and out of fixtures, vises, etc.. I'm scrapping them, but the final parts will look awesome !

I'm curious, how would you mount this on a tripod if the camera will be mounted on top of the mount you have there?

Those are the last few things I need to finish up. The design I've come up with is a little to complicated to produce on a 3 axis mill without a 4th axis. This is next on my list as soon as I learn more on 3D milling. More parts soon to come, even a few videos if anyone is interested.....

Here's a rail system base plate that I cutout, but ended up not really into this part, so going back with the original smaller design. Sorry some of the shots are a bit out of focus. It can be a little hard to op a machine & camera at the same time.
