new super cheap skater dolly

Thanks for the comments. I shoot with the HVX really raw no + or - but with one of the cine choices on. Can't remember but I'll look at home. The post on it is just pulling down the saturation until there is just a hint of colour. As for the dolly most of the straight shots have a slight curve but its hard to tell with the wide lens. Any more and it turn into a pan. It's really best for tight "product" shots that are a few feet away. Basically everything in the P+S videos. But for fast setups it kills a traditional dolly. The angle of the board in the benches is at right angle to the benches with a diagonal push.

cheers,

So are you placing your skater dolly on a plywood board or something that is propped up with c-stands or sawhorses? Or do you just have it on a concrete ground?

4'X2' white board from HomeDepot $11 with a boarder that sticks up enough to stop the skater from rolling off, on 2 full size apple crates. I'm going to have to make the leveling c-stand mount like P+S to get some taller stuff. I have a studio shoot soon so I better get building. Just got laid off my 9-5 so there's some time for metal-work in the garage.

FYI,

When purchasing skateboard wheels, be sure not to get ones larger than 50mm, or they won't fit in the 2" ABS piece.

I salvaged some wheels from my full-sized dolly and found they didn't fit. The wheels were 54mm.
