new sony dslr

No 24p? I remember Sony making a statement quite a while ago that they will be waiting to release a VDSLR, learn from competitors mistakes and make a superior product. Looks like they haven't been paying attention after all.

1080i same as NEX-5 HD modes, EVF's... i dont see Sony having done too much revolutionary work here; i would still go with a Canon, simply for the optical viewfinder and progressive modes.

Sony clearly likes to do things the hard way and they release far too many cameras so quiclkly in a willy nilly fashion. I hate to have to shoot interlaced but sometimes I do to match their cameras and it's just a big uggghhh..

They are catering to their main market, with interlace and several releases together. Japan.

it´s not interlaced - it´s 30p inside a 60i wrapper just like the nex- and we can expect more pro models in the alpha and nex with the 7 series rumored to have up to 720/120fps

I think the marriage of the pellicle with the modern evf might be a great advance and that´s what the rumors are saying

sony is on record they they wouldn´t release until they got video right- let´s see- looks good so far-

Sony has everything required to dominate the SLR video market - asides from the above stuff, they also have dedicated Zeiss AF lenses for the system. What is clear is that they do not intend to offer a proper video mode until absolutely necessary. By the time they do catch on, everyone will have bought into other systems. In fact, I think we've all done this already.
