New small UHD 60P Panasonic trio AG-CX10, HC-X1500, HC-X2000

The "big" camera is almost exactly what we need at work. This may well be the reason they are making these cameras, education and maybe NEWS where a small camera is a bonus. Too bad the NDI is an extra, I think NDI support is built into the latest OBS software which makes it cheap to put together that odd multi-camera shoot.

Just discovered these cameras. Pretty neat. I like the way they look (physically) and all the controls they have. Not to mention that XLR handle. The specs are pretty lush as well. I'm kinda digging these feature packed small prosumer camcorders these days. Reminds me of the old DV days. Would have traded my old Sony TRV900 for one of these in a heartbeat back in 1999 or 2000 when I paid $2000 for that camera. lol

The only thing that gets me bit is the 3G SDI. Is it that much more expensive/complicated to put 12G SDI on a 4K camera these days? Just seems kind of odd to me whenever a camera features an output that doesn't match its full image quality. Then again I guess we've had that for years when you consider RCA composite jacks on Hi8 camcorders and such.

Like with many SDI cameras, since there isn't a lot of affordable equipment out there that accepts 4K SDIs (besides a few external recorders, BM gear, etc), engineers & corporate most likely decided [again] that the maximum SDI output will be 1080p hence the 3G-SDI.

HDMI will forever continue to dominate 4K outputs because of the widely available abundance of 4K monitors and TVs. (Especially in cameras at these price points.)
