new site

Looks great, Mino. My only thing is that the type is so tiny that I have to squint my old man eyes to read it. lol

What is the origin of the term "Red Zone"? Whenever I hear the term it is always in a football game describing the final 20 yards to the end zone. Did it originate from a war?

Nice and clean. But I would speed up the opening a hair. In this hair trigger, er, mouse click browser world a moment too long of delay will make someone jump away.

I agree with Terry - these old eyes have trouble reading the small print. Otherwise, looks GREAT!

Interesting...terry, what size is your monitor and resolution?

HanzK I was, and am looking for a sort of filmic fade in aproach but could speed it up a little. I sort of thought people would hang about to see what comes up next, but you could be right.

You may want to make sure it's multi-browser compliant. I'm using Mozilla (ONLY Mozilla) and when I click the "Enter Site" button it changes to a blue background and nothing else ever comes up.

That might be the problem. For my internet setup I use a 5 year old 17" Viewsonic CRT set to 1024 x 768 @ 85Hz refresh.

However, you might want to think of the lowest common denominator when designing your site.

As for cheapglasses.com... No thanks! I wore glasses for years, but had LASIK surgery done 3 years ago. :)

hey Mino - checked it out again. I'm afraid I have to agree with the others. The light blue text on darker blue background is not that easy to read. And since it's an image instead of actual text, it's a little soft. Plus, since it's an image, I can't use the Mozilla - ctrl + feature to enlarge it. Just a few things to think about.
And I have 20/10 vision........

I'm gonna try and upload the enlarged version again, so if it goes blue I'll put it back till I figure a workaround....Good point about the graphic text, it is actually text but it was converted to a graphic symbol

I am using 1024 X 768

The Font is super-uber-dooper small. Try for a Face of about 5 pts but even that might be pushing it. It's tiny man!

On the Short that you can click on... Can it say Click Here? One might not know to click there without instruction. One thing I have always felt is "Assume they are 12 years old". Don't assume they know to Click there

I know I am using 1024 settings but this would be much nicer if it filled the space up a bit.

As it stands now there is more NAVY/ROYAL BLUE than there is design element.

ON the part that says Visuflex Films. Can that element be made smaller? It seems to want to comptete with Redzone for our attention.

I also feel you have a very nice design element in the banner but it seems wasted as I cant really make it out. I'd like to see the banner image (appears to be coastline?) show up a bit more; but be careful not to detract from the other elements.

IMHO .02!

And something isnt jiving for me on the 'Blue' inside the square and sorrounding the image and font.

Would a kind of Silver work better? (This would force you to rethink some other options like font colors but that blue is nasty...

To be clear I am not referring to your MAIN SITE BLUE but the greyish bluish Aquaish blue.

Jeez John....Whatdaya think I got all night?

Aside from all those good points, I have enlarged the text and whole frame on main page . Does it help?

I agree with John Hudson on the competing visuflex and redzone comment, but do not change the small(er) font. It's not hard to read and looks good.

I used to think that way too about a lot of websites but then once I got glasses I have no problem. Large fonts really make a website look less clean and professional and more amateur. You have a good template here, just tweak a bit and you should be set. nice work!

If you feel guilty about those straining to read the text you can do what my wife does and put a magnifying glass icon next to the text and when clicked a separate window pops up with the text in a larger format (I can send you an example if you care).

My 2 cent.

It does help Mino! Still is not 'flowing easily' though. What about the color being as bit brighter? Like the same color as the words 'A PLACE TO DREAM'

Lyons has a good point ----- Its not that its HARD TO READ. It just doesnt have a crsipness that it should IMO. It has a bit of softiness that blurs it. The SIZE is fine afterall. Just can we make it cleaner, crisper, sharper?

Check the

www.outlandpictures.com

and look at orange paragraphs (not trying to pimp I swear!)

Anyway IMHO as always

Ok John...some of your recomendations have materialized

Elvis....It should work ok, I've been making changes on the fly here so site was up and down like a yo yo I'm gonna work on the blurry text bit next, change it from a symbol to actual text.

you guys have to visit my other new site...Cheap glasses.com

My glasses were far from cheap, but if a cheap pair on top of my not-so-cheap pair would help .... (blind as a bat, I am).
