New Short Film Cinematography Stills

So I just finished a short film this weekend. I was brought in by some university students to shoot one of their student films. It was a challenging and difficult shoot, but we got it done! I wanted to share some of the stills from the footage. Since we just finished two days ago, I'm leaving many of the stills off this post and you should know that these are not color corrected, just simply given a quick grade in RedCine before hopefully going off to the editor. The color correction will happen after the edit and as far as I can see will simply be to help match shot to shot and correct slightly off skin tones... otherwise I'm happy with the first RedCine pass through of the footage.

The story is about two people who make a connection from windows across each other, but each isn't aware that the other is disabled. Cute story and the reason I really wanted to do this film to begin with. Sorry about the image size... this is 25% of the resolution and still it's big! I sometimes forget how much RED is.

I'll answer any questions about the stills and welcome all comments good or bad.

Enjoy!

-Ryan

Really nice work! Did you shoot on an EX camera? I thought it had that kind of look. Do you mind telling what university the students were from?

Thanks for putting your work up.

The camera was a RedOne. Interesting you thought Ex series.

Steve, we used a Digi-Mole HMI for the key light through the blinds. Just to create the effect on the actress, walls and etc. Most of the ambient day light, was simply ambient daylight from outside. We had a CTB'd 36" China ball for fill, but it didn't really contribute all that much to the scene. Perhaps raised the shadows by 1/2 a stop at most.
