New SGPro Lens Mount: Two thumbs up!

I just received and installed the new stainless steal nikon lens mount from shoot35.com.

I got the new Nikon mount, three screws to fix it to the sgpro housing and two allen wrenches (one for the 3 screws and one for the collimation ring). Replacing the old mount with the new one is easy, you just have to unscrew the three screws that hold the old mount and put the new mount on with the three included new screws. My only problem was that I didn't have the right allen wrench to unscrew the screws that were holding the old mount (would be nice if it was included).
The new mount is much more solid than the old one. My nikon lenses have now ZERO play when attached to the SGPro which makes it much easier to pull focus. It also helps when using a remote follow focus that puts some torque on the lens. The release "button" is also improved. It is bigger and therefore much easier to use (I hated the flimsy release knob on the old mount).
I didn't have time to check out the collimation feature yet, because I was working on a shoot the last couple days, but I will as soon as I have some spare time...

I think if you have a SGPro with a nikon mount, the update is well worth it...

My new SGpro flip bundle with the new mount is in the mail

I should be ecstatic but news of the Nikon D90 is putting me down :(

Don't worry about the Nikon D90, it won't replace a good camera with an adapter just yet. There are too many issues that need to get resolved first... (rolling shutter, 5min recording limit, codec, manual controls, audio input, video out, etc.) Don't get me wrong, I think it is an awesome move from Nikon but it is primarily a still image camera and not a film camera (but things might look different in 6 months from now).
