New Rode Shotguns

[JoeFowler]

Anyone heard anything regarding the new Rode NTG-1 and NTG-2 shotguns? I heard they are comparable to the AT 4073a at half the price. Should be coming out in a week or so but the Rode website has nothing on them. I know my local audio store will have them and B&H is carrying them as well. What's the news?

Re: New Rode Shotguns

Has anyone tried these out yet?

I have the expensive large diaphram NTVs for my studio and they're excellent, much like U-87s. I imagine Rode will deliver an excellent mic for the price.

Re: New Rode Shotguns

I have an NT1-A that I love.  In fact for the dining room scene that I'm doing, I've actually suspended that above the actor and so far I'm getting pretty decent results (although I'm still eyeing that Oktava...)
