New redrock Cinescreen 2 footage!

I got the new cine screen from Redrock and I'm impressed. I installed the new screen, hooked up my micro x to my HV30 and went out and grabbed some shots. I can already tell the new screen is greatly improved. I get my HPX170 tomorrow and I will go out and put the screen through its paces and I will be shooting a music video with the 170 and new screen Sunday.

From what I can gather after shooting this footage, everything that the new screen was supposed to improve has improved. It's still early to say, but I personally think this was a smart move by Redrock.

I can't wait to shoot with the 170 and new screen, I have no doubt that the images wont be anything less than great.

Images are basically raw from cam except for a few level adjustments

I'll have better footage after this weekend.

Looks pretty decent. Almost like a mix between the letus extreme GG and their current GG.

how's the light loss?

the cine screen is the new m2 lens? it is not for sale on the website? how did you get it how much? i bought the flip . or is it the spinning glass?

yes ,it is $125 for m2 owners with # . but it shows a logo. i may be a idiot what part is it? ??? all i see is a cool logo. it has to be a piece of glass?

Looks great, but i've seen nature shots of all the adapters on the market and they all look great. Phil Bloom can't stop shooting nature with his 35's..! But lets see some live action of people in an acting scene,.. because that is what most of us are probably shooting...( I could be wrong)

It looks fine but I think you're video is too heavily compressed and subject matter does really lend itself to see what's supposed to be the strength of the new gg. Something like a person in front of out of focus lights in a darker condition would better tell, I think.

I'll have some better examples to post after this weekend. These were just some quick shots I grabbed. I'll try to set some low light scenes up in the next few days.

how hard is the upgrade process?

I would like to know this too. Just ordered mine yesterday.

As soon as I get my new cinescreen in, I plan to set up a low-light interior portrait shot (probably with my 85mm lens) and then record some footage with the old screen. I'll upgrade on the spot and then shoot the same shot with the same settings/lighting with the new screen and report back. I'm very interested in the light gain and any negative effect this may have on the bokeh rendering.

That is the point of this upgrade. Light loss is key in any adapter and that is what RedRock is claiming for this new upgrade.

If interior dark shots are not improved, then what is the point?

Id like to see shots done side by side to prove the light loss has been reduced.

It has been reduced, drastically. I've used it myself long before it was announced. It's on par with the Extreme and Brevis

Gonna have to post up some footage to let the masses judge that. It's a subjective thing. I think the new screen renders out of focus areas and highlights well, personally.

please post the upgrade process. Also did u have to register ur m2 for rr pple to recognize u as a m2 owner?

I will try to post the upgrade process in detail, with photos. My new screen arrives on Monday.

You have to provide a valid serial number for an M2 in order to get the screen.

From that footage I gather that the bokeh will be less like the original M2 and SGpro bokeh which renders the shape of the aperture and more like the Letus and Brevis which render smooth gradients instead.
