New or used

Maybe this is the wrong fourm for this but I am trying to decide between the dvx100b new or a 2/3 in 3CCD dvcam camera used. I will be shooting events mostly, some wedding stuff maybe, trade shows, seminars, hopefully to use for shorts on the side.

Would anyone out there trade thier dvx100b for a 2/3 in 3ccd camera if they could and why?

which 2/3'' dvcam camera? The short answer is maybe, depending on what camera. You could possibly sell if for more and buy an HVX? or put the money toward an HVX. Does it have a lense?

Yeah, I think it really depends on which one. Also, you have to think about decks and all that stuff as well. There's more to it than the cam.

If it's worth more than your DVX, and you could get more money than your DVX out of it, I would say it's a no brainer to trade it, use the money for

a) another DVX + whatever accessories it would allow (tripod?) unless you already have all the accessories you want/need
b) Put the money toward an HVX, and maybe before selling it, try and get some well paying gigs......

Sorry I should have been more clear. I dont have a big camera now I'm looking to upgrade to either a DVX100B or something with big chips.

Your right about it being more than just the camera. Decks are just the start. The weight of one of these takes a bigger tripod and your into another realm of camera stabilizers, with lens and viewfinders and batteries the choices are staggering.

Thanks for the replies.

With software could i get a 24p look with a regular camera?
