i don't know about you guys but i have seen some nice pictures of those fancy audio carts that the big time hollywood guys use.
i've seen the prices and stripped they are like $1,200-1,600
and that is usually the bare cart and a few shelves.
lots of the stuff you see is all optional.
i have had a rock n roller cart for a couple of years. somebody on here recommended it...

i was at there site a week or so ago and i saw that they are starting to offer both a shelf for it and a bottom tray (the shelf and tray are listed at the bottom of their products page)
the neat thing is that it works both when the cart is in its short configuration and when it is extended.
the long configuration is nice but it wouldn't fit into most of the houses or places where you typically shoot interior stuff on narrative shorts or features.
the short configuration with the shelf gave me the idea to get a shelf and a bottom tray so i could put my porta brace production bag on the bottom where it will be out of the way but easily accessed and i can put other stuff on top of the shelf.
i am also planning on putting something together with hooks to go on both end of the cart so i can hang my snake that goes from my sd 442 mixer to the camera and the duplex cable that goes to the boom operator.
on the other end of the cart i'm going to have smaller hooks to hang most of my xlr cables so they are available immediately but also out of the way.
this came at just the right time as i'm doing sound on a low budget feature for three weeks and i wasn't looking forward to having to drag my gear around.
this way i can at least setup the cart once for the day or even the location if its secure and i can even get the cart in and out of the back of my jeep wrangler with the large production case on the bottom shelf.
if anyone has a sound cart they would like to share that would be great!
